EXCITING NEWS!!!  Matthew will soon be leaving New York City to begin an Assistant Professorship of Musical Theatre at







Matthew is extremely excited to fulfill this lifelong dream, and begin a new chapter in his career as an educator at this fine program, and as actor in the greater Denver area.

With sadness, he and his family will be leaving beautiful NYC, and making the scary transition back to suburbia...mini-van and all...in early August.  So many exciting new adventures!!!

Matthew  closed two Off-Broadway plays with theatre companies with which he is a company member.

First, a two-time extended Off-Broadway run of Homer's Odyssey at the Bleecker Street Theatre with Handcart Ensemble, in Sept./Oct. Matthew served as the Voice/Speech Coach and Music Director.  Great reviews from the NY Times, The New
Yorker, and filmed for a PBS special.



Second, Theatre East presented Eye of God by Tim Blake Nelson. This inaugural production for Theatre East played at The Kirk Theatre on Theatre Row on 42nd St. October 2-17. Matthew served at the Dialect/Speech Coach.

Matthew successfully debuted his solo-cabaret, Only Heaven Knows on May 11-12 at Don't Tell Mama in Midtown NYC.

In addition to his performing, Matthew taught last fall as faculty at Cap21 Studios, the musical theatre training division at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.

Recently, Matthew played the role of Moishe in a
workshop reading of WARSAW: A Musical Drama, directed by
Jamibeth Margolis, with Music by William Wade and Book/Lyrics
by John Atkins. It was presented at The Museum of Jewish
Heritage in New York City.

Matthew also finished another round of three backers'
auditions (investors' showcase) of the Broadway-bound musical,
Children of Eden, with Stephen Schwartz at the helm, his son
Scott Schwartz as director, and Broadway star, Norm Lewis, as
Father.  Matthew appeared as the Generations soloist. To learn

Also, Matthew finished runs of Ted Hughes' version of 
Euripide's Alcestis, and The Burial at Thebes: A  Version of
Antigone by Seamus Heaney for the Handcart Ensemble. of
which Matthew is a resident member.

Matthew made his exciting solo-debut at Carnegie Hall in a benefit concert entitled, The Gift of Music. He performed a set of Broadway favorites.

He also appeared with his son, Cole, on the cover of an issue of Martha Stewart's newest publication, Blueprint
Magazine.
